National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Food Safety First Principles: for Food Handlers certificate program provides food handlers with the knowledge and skills they need to safely handle foods for human consumption. Successful completion of the program assures food managers, regulators and trainers that the certificate holder has completed a basic course in food safety. The First Principles course is based on the principles and recommendations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Code and is recommended for people involved in the preparation, handling, serving and displaying of food. The course is required by law in some states and voluntary in others. Please check with your local health department for the regulations in your state or local jurisdiction. This ANSI/ASTM accredited online course is accepted by the laws of California, Illinois, Florida & Texas and all 50 states.
The Food Safety First Principles: for Food Handlers certificate program is the comprehensive answer for your food handler needs and covers the following areas.
The Online Food Handler course is self-paced and narrated. Most people complete the course in 1-2 hours. Once you register and pay for your course, you will have 30 days to complete it. There is a 40 question assessment to test your knowledge of the subject material. You must score at least 70% on the assessment to receive your Certificate of Completion. This ensures that the material is being absorbed. Our unique program allows you to review the course and retake the assessment as many times as you need in order to achieve the 70% passing score (within 30 days from date of purchase). The ultimate goal is that you learn and retain the material. The Environmental Health Testing/National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Certificate of Completion and wallet card will be processed and emailed after completing the course and passing the assessment.

California Food Handler Notice:
The new law states that California food handlers hired prior to June 1, 2011 must obtain a food handler card on or before July 1, 2011. Food handlers hired on or after June 1, 2011 must obtain a food handler card within 30 days of the date of hire. Take this EHT/NRFSP online course to meet this requirement
